A few weeks ago, we hosted Paul’s older brother, Joe. This week, we’re hosting (among other non-drinking family members) his litter brother, Michael. Obviously, we’re using this as another excellent excuse to get out and explore the drinking options around home, and after making and discarding another overly ambitious wine-only trail, I settled on a trail with a little bit of everything – and only three stops. This time around, we’ll be hitting Greenhill Winery & Vineyards (wine), Mt. Defiance Cidery and Distillery (cider and liquor), and Old Bust Head (beer). The first two were on my list for Joe’s visit, but, well, they didn’t happen, which is for the best, really. If we lived in my ideal world, we’d start with wine, move to beer, and finish with liquor, but Old Bust Head doesn’t open until 3pm, and driving back and forth across the area would be silly. However, we’ll be drinking liquor before beer, so maybe we’ll be in the clear?
